A female patient came in with the complaint of trouble urinating, and that was only the beginning. After doing her own “research” online at home, she was convinced she had, wait for it, prostate cancer! She didn’t know what to do and she thought coming to the ER would be her best option for quick removal of the cancer.
Unfortunately, I was the one who had to spend the next half hour telling her that nothing was wrong. It was impossible trying to convince her that not only did she not have prostate cancer, but that she didn’t even have a prostate.
